Vienna event to feature two thousand naked people
Thousands of naked people are being sought for an event on May 11 at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium.
New York artist Spence Tunick is looking for a total of 2,008 nudes for his project that will feature them in various colours and different "set-ups."
He is warning, however, that he doesn't want any nudists or exhibitionists to participate. Those who do will have to do so on a strictly voluntary basis. Tunick adds that he finds the stadium "very nice."
Interested people can register for the event sponsored by Kunsthalle Wien and the initiative "Österreich am Ball" on the internet.
Project partner Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) will provide free round-trip tickets for participants.
Tunick is planning to make both a photo series and a film documentary based on the event.
Both will be shown in "public space" on Vienna's Karlsplatz next to the Kunsthalle beginning on June 24, according to its chief Gerald Matt.
He says that he is pleased that his friend Tunick will be back in town and that the May 11 event will have "great resonance."
