Wien. (cra) Castingshows haben schon lange die Welt der Klassik erreicht: Zum vierten Mal diente der Auftakt der Wiener Festwochen als Austragungsort des Wettbewerbs "Eurovision Young Musicians."

Eine Skulptur des österreichischen Künstlers Emmerich Weissenberger wurde im Thermenpark Bad Blumau kontrolliert gesprengt. Die Reste der Plastik - sie ließ sich als Kombination aus Penis und Vulva interpretieren - wurden in einem Blumenbeet kompostiert. Die 3,5 Tonnen schwere aus organischen Materialien bestehende "Gaia" war schon  2011 bei der "Green Expo"am Wiener Heldenplatz zu sehen. Weissenbergers Projekt "Wahrnehmungsweg für Kunst und nachhaltige Entwicklung" in Bad Blumau ist damit nicht abgeschlossen. Der Film von Gaia und ihrer Sprengung soll im Herbst von der Österreich Werbung in Berlin gezeigt werden. Horst Faas wurde vor allem durch seine Fotos aus dem Vietnamkrieg berühmt.

Ein Bild von einem Bild der Welt macht diese junge Frau auf der Hong Kong International Art Fair. Das Werk stammt vom italienischen Künstler Alighiero Boetti. Ein Hauch von Underground durchströmte zum Auftakt des letzten Abends des diesjährigen Donaufestivals die Minoritenkriche: Konzert von Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Tony Conrad und Edward O'Dowd.
