The Nutrition Manager supports the Chief in managing the section, contributing to innovation and knowledge management. S/He is responsible for developing, preparing and managing complex, key and integrated nutrition programmes. The Nutrition Manager provides authoritative technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable results in maternal, infant and child nutrition programmes/projects. This is carried out according to plans, allocation results in based-management approaches and methodology (RBM), as well as UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance, and accountability framework. The incumbent is expected to undertake 2 field visits per quarter and spend 15% of their time in Field locations.
The holder of this position will lead and coordinate one of the four Nutrition Programme Outputs on "Nutrition Governance, Information, and Knowledge" aiming to ensure that "Government and non-governmental actors have improved capacity in governance, nutrition information systems, and knowledge-generation to facilitate scale-up of nutrition interventions". He/She will provide guidance, leadership and technical support in planning and management of activities under the output on Nutrition Governance, Information and Knowledge Generation. The holder of this position will oversee the activities of the expanded output which includes support to the preparation of national strategic plan on nutrition, strengthening coordination of nutrition activities, nutrition information including monthly sitrep, quarterly performance scorecard and bi-annual bottleneck analysis of key nutrition intervention. He/She will support the preparation of nutrition programme results framework and update progress towards targets for mid and end year RAM reporting. He/She will be responsible for the preparation, implementation, and reporting of the nutrition component of twice yearly Food security and nutrition monitoring survey (FSNMS) as well as support integrated food security phase classification (IPC) analysis. He/She will be responsible for the review and validation of all partner nutrition surveys, evaluations, and annual estimation of people in need/caseload for Humanitarian Response Plan. He/She will support documentation of nutrition programme success stories, preparation of nutrition field reports, case studies and articles. He/She will support resource mobilization efforts for the nutrition section through the development of quality donor proposals and reports. He/She will support the management and monitoring of nutrition section grants/budgets under this output.
