We support programme implementation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UNHABITAT) globally, as well as other UN offices in Kenya, by providing Administrative, conference, Security and information services (

The UNON Public Information internship is for 6 months.

The Internship is UNPAID and full-time.

Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.


Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background; the intern’s assigned office as well as the internship period.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Visitors Service the intern will:

Assist in the daily business and activities of the Visitors‘ Service.

Provide the incumbent with extensive insights in the history, structure and work of the UN.

Give practical learning opportunities regarding the outreach and information activities of the Visitors‘ Service.

Draft, design and update information materials.

Maintain the Visitors‘ Service social media platforms.

Prepare and carry out outreach and marketing activities.

Collect information for UN tours.

Organize Visitors‘ Service special tours, e.g. for UN Days and other observances.

Carry out office duties in the Visitors‘ Service.

Perform any other assignments on activities of the Visitors‘ Service.
