Organizational Setting

FAO’s office for Yemen is responsible for developing, promoting, overseeing and implementing agreed strategies for addressing countrywide food, agriculture and rural development priorities under Yemen. It develops and maintains relations with the relevant Ministries at country level. This position is based in FAO Representation in Sanaa, Yemen. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

Reporting Lines

Under the overall guidance of the FAO Representative (FAOR) and Assistant FAOR (Admin), and the direct supervision of the National Travel Officer, and in close cooperation with FAO Units.

Technical Focus

The Travel Assistant performs a large variety of routine functions assisting the processing of transactions and the use of corporate travel systems.

Tasks and responsibilities

Assist in preparation of LTAs for local missions;
Raise, submit the Travel Authorization (TA) for (R&R, deployment and official trips); ensuring all supporting documents are correct;
Ensure submitting the Travel Expense Claim (TEC) on time and supporting documents (Boarding Passes, BTOR...) in compliance with FAO policies and regulations;
Support the UNHAS Focal Point, ensuring sound preparation of Passenger Movement Requests (PMRs) with all supporting documents are in place (UNLP, National Passport, work ID and valid residency or visas) of all FAO international staff;
