You will report directly to the Director General Statistics, advising her and the Head of the Data Integration and Services Section on data management and governance issues in the ECB, European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), the system of banking supervision in Europe. Our Directorate General has about 350 staff providing statistical products, services and a wide range of disaggregated data to inform monetary policy and banking supervisory decisions at the ECB and to serve the general public. We work closely with the national central banks of the ESCB, national banking supervisory authorities, Eurostat, the banking industry and other international bodies. You would join at a very interesting time as we further develop the data culture in the ECB, ESCB and SSM to meet the demands of a digital and globalised world. Are you willing to take on the challenge? The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply, irrespective of your gender, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability or other characteristics.

As a Senior Adviser you will:

play a key strategic role in data management at the ECB, to ensure it reaps the full benefit from a common framework, standardisation and the coordination of best practices by working, in particular, on the development of the ECB’s reference data architecture and its ability to deliver data in a consistent, efficient and integrated way to all users while enabling advanced analytics;
communicate and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, standard-setting bodies and regulating bodies, and bring together different opinions to find workable compromises;
establish and lead cross-functional and cross-divisional project teams in developing data management and governance principles and fostering their implementation, as well as in developing and promoting ways to create and share reusable analytical solutions.

The position offers you excellent opportunities to be involved in the development of policy advice and in projects of great relevance for the Directorate General and the ECB as a whole. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
