Under the direct supervision of the International Field Electoral Officer the incumbent will work as part of the United Nations team providing technical electoral assistance to the Departmental Tribunal assigned to. The UN electoral assistance team in Bolivia will be led by a Chief Technical Advisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

Contribute to the implementation of electoral programs and processes in one or more of the following areas, as required: electoral training, capacity building, civic/voter education, external relations, electoral procedures, electoral operations, electoral logistics, electoral security, electoral IT development, and/or voter registration. Support outreach activities, communication strategy of the TED.

Establish and maintain professional and productive partnerships with national counterparts and other key stakeholders in the electoral process.

Assists in addressing policy guidance, logistics, and other electoral needs in a timely manner;
Facilitate the coordination of logistical support to TSE public outreach and voter education activities;
Facilitate the coordination of the TSE in mobilizing local authorities to support the participation of women and vulnerable groups in participating in the electoral and political process;
Support the compilation of regular briefings and reports in the assigned area of responsibility in close collaboration with other relevant partners.

Perform other tasks and duties as requested by the International Field Electoral Officer.

Regular trips within the Department as required.

Required Skills and Experience


Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or related field.


3 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree or 5 years with a bachelor’s degree at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.

Experience in electoral processes will be favorable valued.

Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.

Language requirements:

Fluency in Spanish, national language of the duty station and fluency in English is desirable.
