We are looking for a Sitefinity Technical Advisor who is motivated to meet WHO stakeholders and combine the art of business analysis and Sitefinity development. Responsibilities will include assessing how to best serve needs with existing Sitefinity development and recommending of best practices on how to translate UI/UX design wireframes into optimal Sitefinity devlopment.
The purpose of this post is help WHO units and departments assess their business needs and recommend how they can be best served by already existing Sitefinity development in WHO’s Sitefinity ecosystem, or propose future development to do.
You will work with an already existing internal Sitefinity Technical Team that want to bridge the gap between WHO’s noble missions and Sitefinity technology.
BACKGROUND
WHO’s goal is to build a better, healthier future for people all over the world. It does this by ‚promoting health, keeping the world safe, and serving the vulnerable.‘ To keep pace with the evolving needs and challenges of the 21st century, WHO is undertaking a number of changes to more effectively deliver on its mandate. One of these changes focuses on improving WHO’s website.
WHO’s website helps support this mission, and WHO.int receives in excess of 86 million visitors a year. As the website is currently on an outdated CMS, WHO has started to migrate over to the Sitefinity CMS. We are still in the process of migrating the remaining 160,000 web pages across our Headquarters, South East Asia Regional Office (SEARO) and Western Pacific Regional, and require assistance with this.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED
Under the supervision of the Sitefinity Technical Team, DCO & IMT, the Sitefinity Technical Advisor is part of a team in charge of the Organization’s implementation onto Sitefinity. The position closely cooperates with teams and colleagues both in DCO, IMT at headquarters as well as communications staff in Regional and Country Offices.
Work objectives are:
Identify business needs of WHO departments and units
Decide how to best serve needs, either through the existing WHO Sitefinity Ecosystem or upcoming development
Advice department’s on best Sitefinity solutions
Develop new user-facing features
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
Assure that all user input is validated and in line with future standards
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
TENTATIVE PLANNED TIMELINES
Start date: 15 February 2020
End date: 30 June 2020
Essential Knowledge and Skills
Sitefinity experience in large organisation including for governmental Organisation
Development experience with multi-site and multi lingual implementations of Sitefinity
Thorough knowledge of the latest standards in ASP.NET 2.0 Content Management Systems (like Sitefinity).
A solid understanding of web application development processes, from the layout/user interface to relational database structures
Ability to adapt and manage deliverables and resources in a climate of change, and to think and act quickly under pressure yet remain effective
Ability to effectively collaborate with teams in an international, multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment separated by geographical locations and working under different time-zones;
Ability to promote best practices, advise on improvements, independently perform research, and apply information from a broad range of sources;

Education Qualifications

University degree in computer science/software engineering or Sitefinity specific certifications
Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in Sitefinity development and support
Experience in digital platform development process from scoping documents to development (implementation), deployment and documentation.
Experience in Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud solutions
Experience with responsive design and mobile friendly websites.
Certified Basic Sitefinity Developer
Telerik Academy Certification
*Desirable
Experienced Sitefinity support
Experience in web analytics packages.
8. Use of Language Skills
Expert knowledge in spoken and written English.
Basic knowledge in French is desirable, but not mandatory.
9. Other Essential IT Skills
MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
MS SharePoint, MS Visio, MS Project, MS Teams
10. Duration
Time and materials basis. This position is intended to be 100% for two and half (4.5) months at a P3 UN consultancy
There is no guarantee of continued and/or ongoing employment with WHO in any capacity following the end of this contract but extension into 2021 could be likely.

Incumbent will work ideally at HQ in Geneva however
