The duration of this consultancy is for nine months, starting 11 March 2021and ending on 11 December 2021. The consultancy is Level ‚B‘.

Responsibilities
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UNEP’s mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UNEP’s Communications Division communicates UNEP’s core messages to all stakeholders and partners, raising environmental awareness and enhancing the profile of UNEP worldwide.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Content and Client Services, the Lead Multimedia Producer and Advisor will perform the following duties:
Identify story ideas, to conceptualize, script, shoot and produce a variety of short and long-form multimedia products
Develop strategic plans on how UNEP can employ virtual reality, augmented reality, animation, audio/podcast products
Develop a strategy and blueprint to improve impact and reach of the Youtube and data management platforms, restructure and run the platforms
Tags data management environmental policy strategic communication sustainable development video production
Develop video production forms and guidelines for various units across the communication division
Develop a strategy on production, pipeline and dissemination of podcasts
Coordinate the production of long and short-form videos for use at events, for UNEP’s website and social media.
Coordinate client requests
Occasional travel to the field to capture multimedia story packages.
Ensure accuracy, clarity, cohesion and conformity with United Nations standards, policies and practice.
Qualifications/special skills
Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree in media management, video production, communications, or another relevant field, or a first university degree with an additional two years of qualifying experience is required.
Experience: A minimum of five years of experience working in multimedia production, film making and/or video for high quality platforms. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and other Creative Suite software is required. Prior experience shooting video and still photography on DSLR cameras and drone/aerial filming experience is desirable. Familiarity with 360 films and short-form video productions for social media use. Prior experience in the international arena is desirable.
Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in written and spoken English is required. Working knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable.
