Evaluation Office (EO) at the

United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) provides timely, objective and focused information on the various activities undertaken by UNICEF to improve the well-being of children and women. Assessments of impact, effectiveness, efficiency and relevance support transparency, accountability and learning, and provide reliable evidence for decision-making and advocacy.

With the objective towards enhancing the utilization of evaluation findings, conclusions and recommendations, the Evaluation Office (EO) publishes Evaluation Reports and related knowledge products that are distributed across several platforms, both internal and external. Emerging evidence is increasingly being digitized on platforms that can be accessed by users across the world.

UNICEF Evaluation Office has an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Collaboration Sites on SharePoint, a public website and a digital ideas platform (Global Development Commons)- all of which houses evaluative work from UNICEF globally. This EO Collaboration Site is a platform for EO staff to create, share and find information, collaborate with each other and access the tools needed to complete the work. The Drupal-based public website features recent evaluations, including those that have been presented the UNICEF Board and other UNDS entities. The digital ideas platform further promotes evaluative work to the public, alongside other types of knowledge and evidence about children. The consultant will assist curating and organizing existing and new evidence-based work easier to access by users, as well as, help curate and quality assure the content on all platforms (internal and external).

How can you make a difference?

The EO requires a graphic designer to produce and publish

various evaluation reports and other evaluation guidance documents and evaluation knowledge products, as they become available in the final draft status.

The EO is seeking to hire an in-house graphic designer to:

design/layout the infographics, cover page, inside pages and back cover for the various evaluation reports and other evaluation guidance documents and evaluation knowledge products and,

support the content curation on UNICEF evaluation-related internal and external platforms.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have...

A university degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in visual communication, information design, graphic/multimedia design, information and content management, or any related field.

A minimum of

1 year of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas: digital media, communication, design of infographics/brochures, data visualization, web content management or another related area in a visually appealing content.

Experience in the production layout and design of the type of publications specified above.

Proven ability to creatively ideate and transform complex information and messages into fresh, audience-oriented, and visually arresting images/graphic designs that are intuitive and easy to read.

Able to handle meticulous design and proofreading of reports under exceptionally tight deadlines.

Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Knowledge and skills in Adobe Creative Suite and other editing tools is required.

Knowledge in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
