UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a Temporary Appointment within the Digital Engagement Section of the Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) in London, United Kingdom. Organizational context The Digital Solutions Unit is responsible for the project coordination, delivery and overall maintenance of all external UNHCR websites, which are one of the most important communication vehicles for UNHCR reaching over 20 million users annually. The Unit initiated a multi-year project in 2021 to migrate a large number of websites under a common Drupal foundation. The Web Presence migration project entered the development phase.

The position Working in close co-operation with the business owners and the technical teams, the Project Manager (Drupal) is responsible for ensuring proper coordination and management of the project resources throughout the software development lifecycle. The main objective is that UNHCR’s public websites developed as part of the Web Presence project are delivered according to industry best practices and UNHCR web presence standards, within allocated time and budget. The incumbent of the post works with the other specialist technicians in the Digital Solutions Unit and will execute a range of activities that helps to deliver an excellent user experience across the UNHCR ecosystem of migrated websites. S/he reports the Digital Solutions team leader. The Digital Solutions Officer is expected to assume independent responsibility for prioritisation of day-to-day work.

Duties and responsibilities - Coordinate the Web Migration Project following Agile methodology;
Liaise with business owners to ensure features are delivered according to specifications;
Liaise with technical teams to ensure features are delivered according to UNHCR web development standards (SEO, UX, performance, security, quality, etc.);
Prioritize tasks and coordinate project members;
Monitor project progress and budget, produce project status reports;
Maintain the project documentation;
Facilitate scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings;
Undertake other tasks as requested by the Senior Digital Development Officer.

Essential minimum qualifications and professional experience required - 9 years of relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or 8 years relevant experience with Graduate degree; or 7 years relevant experience with Doctorate in Drupal web development, project management or other related function;
BSc or equivalent qualification and experience in Computer Science, Digital Marketing or related field;
In-depth knowledge of modern digital project management methodologies;
Ability to manage project portfolios, coordinate, prioritize and deliver digital projects;
Expertise with web development methodologies and technologies including Drupal or WordPress;
Thorough understanding of website navigation, usability design and testing methodologies;
Knowledge of the basic fundamentals of iterative and incremental development, continuous integration and delivery (CI-CD);
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Fluency in English language.

Desired qualifications and competencies - Experience and/or exposure to International Relations, Communications, Political Science or Journalism;
Previous experience working with a UN agency;
Good working knowledge of French or another UN language.

Location The successful candidate will be based with the team in London, United Kingdom. Frequent international and regional travel will be required.

Conditions The initial duration of temporary appointment is 6 months.
