The OSCE Mission to Serbia’s Democratization Department is looking for an intern who wishes to gain experience and provide assistance in implementing activities under the OSCE-supported "Follow Us" Initiative. Preference will be given to applicants who are fluent in Albanian and are alumnae of the OSCE Dialogue Academy for Young Women.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The selected intern will have the opportunity to gain an overview of the work of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, focusing on activities related to human dimension. Under the supervision of the Senior Governance Training Assistant, the intern will carry out the following duties:
Assist with development and implementation of projects of the Dialogue Academy alumnae;
Assist with the organization of annual program of the OSCE Dialogue Academy for Young Women in 2021;
Assist in building partnerships and creating an informal network of young women activists from Belgrade and Pristina to discuss women’s contribution to reconciliation and dialogue;
Take notes and prepare minutes from the meetings of the "Follow Us" Initiative participants;
Research and identify new opportunities to enhance cooperation between "Follow Us"/Dialogue Academy participants and relevant institutions, international organizations and civil society;
Perform any other duties as required.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the internship is expected to start remotely, with the possibility of switching to in-person internship if/when the epidemiological situation improves.
Applicants should be under the age of 30 on the date of the deadline of this vacancy;
Applicants who have already served six months of internship in the OSCE, irrespective of the duty station, are not eligible to apply;
University degree or completion of at least 3 years of university education at an accredited institution;
Experience in the OSCE Dialogue Academy for Young Women programme;
Sound knowledge of the subject matter and previous working or educational experience on gender equality, women empowerment, dialogue and reconciliation;
Sound research and drafting skills.
Fluency in English, both oral and written, and good communication skills;
Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages;
Ability and willingness to work with people of different nationalities, cultural and religious backgrounds and diverse political views while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.
Experience in volunteer and civic action involving civil society would be an asset;
Experience in event management would be an asset;
Fluency in Albanian would be an asset.

The incumbent will undertake an internship in the
duration of up to six months, starting 11 October 2021. Candidates are requested to indicate their
availability dates in the cover letter.
The OSCE is not in a position to pay any remuneration or cover expenses incurred by the intern. However, some
compensation will be offered to interns who do not have permanent residence in Belgrade as the official place of assignment and who do not receive financial support from an educational institution. In 2021, this compensation amounts to EUR 13.1 per day (i.e. 10% of the Board and Lodging Allowance).
The selected interns must provide evidence of
health insurance coverage which is valid for Serbia, otherwise they shall be obliged to join the OSCE group health insurance for the period of their internship, in which case they shall pay the corresponding premium in full (EUR 40.35 per month). The OSCE shall bear the premium costs of group life and accident/disability insurance.
Participation in an internship programme does not constitute a commitment to future employment with the OSCE.
