Organizational Setting The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) supports the transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agri-food systems, for Better production, Better nutrition, Better environment and Better life, leaving no one behind. The Procurement Service provides advice, guidance and oversight for FAO procurement operations and the Letter of Agreement Quality Assurance function both at headquarters and in FAO decentralized offices; it provides policy and operational support to ensure that the Organization procures goods, works and services based on "Best Value for Money" principles.

Reporting Lines The Consultant reports to the CSLP, Chief.

Technical Focus Management, Co-ordination and oversight of Procurement Capacity building, Monitoring, and Secretariat of the Vendor Sanctions and Headquarters Procurement Committees.

Tasks and responsibilities

Promote best practices and capacity development at HQ and the Decentralized Offices and faciliates and/or participates in related training.

Coordinate secretariat services to the Vendor Sanctions and the Headquarters Procurement Committees, and/or Coordinate and manage the secretariat of the Vendor Sanctions Committee and the Headquarters Procurement Committee

Create and Maintain policies, guidelines and other documents on the FAO Intranet;
Organize and finalize written outputs and designs, create and issues the CSLP newsletter;
Contribute to policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trend, generate survey initiatives; review, analyse and interpret responses, identify problems/issues and prepare conclusions; cvieGyC Dh7qKS

Initiate and coordinate outreach and communication-related activities; review and contribute to the development of learning materials, conducts training workshops, seminars; make presentations on assigned topics/activities;

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

University degree in Law, Business, Administration, Economics, Public Administration or Commerce, Social Sciences, Humanities or related field.

At least one year of relevant experience in management and administration.

Working knowledge of English, French or Spanish and limited knowledge of one of the other two or Arabic, Chinese, Russian. For PSA.SBS the knowledge of only one language might be required.
