In this context, the People Development Analyst designs and delivers UNDP-wide approaches, strategies, programmes and initiatives in talent acquisition and development aligned with UNDP’s People for 2030 strategy to enable a transformational change in the skills, knowledge and capabilities of UNDP’s people and capacity to deliver.

The People Development Analyst plays a pivotal role in providing formation and employee experience journeys for various people groups, such as young talent, people managers and senior leaders. This includes onboarding, development and learning programmes for young talent and onboarding to critical leadership roles.

50% of the time of the of position will be allocated to the development and delivery of on-boarding and full cycle development programmes for young professionals, including Junior Professional Officers (JPO), and 50% of the time of the position will be allocated to development and delivery of onboarding to people manager and leadership roles and delivery of leadership development offerings.

The People Development Analyst works in a matrixed arrangement under the direct supervision of the HR Specialist, Talent Acquisition and People Programmes (TAPP) and HR Manager, Leadership Development, Talent Development Unit (TDU).

Duties and Responsibilities

On-boarding and end-to-end development programmes for Young Professionals focusing on achievement of the following results:

Management of learning needs analysis, design, implementation, evaluation and administration of development and learning programmes.

Facilitation of the development of training materials and delivery of development and learning events.

Design and coordination of learning and development programmes based on organizational needs by applying a blended learning approach, including online learning, master classes, support community exchange and virtual/face to face workshop for each of the targeted populations.

Advice to stakeholders on design of learning events, including advising on innovative learning approaches, methodologies, technologies and facilitation.

Coordination of surveys and feedback analysis to monitor the impact of learning and development and evaluate overall programme effectiveness.

Recommendation and coordination of development of appropriate e-learning tools, tool kits, social media and other blended methodologies to facilitate the chosen learning method and to respond to requests from stakeholders.

Coordination of Young Professionals, including Junior Professional Officer/Specialist for Development, on-boarding programmes, including design and continuous development of orientation material, coordination of buddy programme, organization of JPO orientation workshops, and leveraging digital solutions for most effective on-boarding.

Design and coordination of Young Professionals career development support, including masterclasses and mentoring programme. Support to learning and communication events related to JPO learning and development, including mentoring and career development.

Effective project management:

Management of learning project(s) pertaining to Young Professional learning and senior leadership learning activities, in line with UNDP’s corporate standards.

Identification, development and implementation of innovative and digital solutions to enhance UNDP employee experience and skills of employees in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Coordination of renewal / revision of learning activities with various partners which in part calls for enhancing and customizing existing learning products and offerings for target audiences.

Contribute to the design and delivery of a portfolio of leadership development programmes and initiatives, targeting e.g., UNDP’s Resident Representatives, Deputy Resident Representatives, Directors, Senior Managers, talent pools of aspiring (senior) leaders, current and aspiring women leaders.

Leadership development programmes include custom-made and open-enrollment executive education programmes, individual / team coaching programmes, 360 / pulse feedback initiatives, mentoring, masterclasses etc., collaborating with learning vendors and partners e.g. universities, business schools.

Stay abreast of latest developments in leadership development areas to serve as a subject matter expert and internal consultant regarding critical people and leadership issues.

People Management Development:

Contribute to the design and delivery of a portfolio of people management development programmes and initiatives, targeting people managers at various levels (e.g., mid-level, junior, general service staff).

People management development programmes include custom-made programmes, coaching programmes, 360 and pulse feedback, mentoring, masterclasses etc., collaborating with learning vendors and partners e.g. universities, business schools.

Support the professionalization of people managers through cutting-edge learning resources, certification programmes and other initiatives, as relevant and in line with best practices and new approaches.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

Master level degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources Management or other related Social Sciences.

A professional certification in learning and capacity development is an asset but not a requirement

Experience:

Minimum 2 years progressively responsible experience in the area of learning and development and leadership development in either public or private sector or international organizations.

Relevant experience in organizing and delivering corporate people and talent development programmes, including on-boarding programmes.

Demonstrated skills in facilitation of online events to target audiences relevant to the job description and role requirements

Experience and knowledge of digital learning solutions, provision of coaching and mentoring solutions to target audiences relevant to the role and project management are required

Demonstrated experience in working with external vendors and partners for the provision of first-class learning solutions for target audiences spanning from young talent to senior leaders.

Language:

Fluency in English required.

Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is a distinctive asset.
