ITS Vice Presidency Context:
Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.
Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.
ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.
Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.
The Operations & Corporate (ITSOC) department provides state-of-art information and technology applications to support the business needs of Operations and Corporate VPUs. We work with our clients to design solutions that help enable client responsiveness, improve organizational effectiveness, and manage risks.
Overview of Role
The Operations & Corporate department (ITSOC) is seeking a motivated, creative, and collaborative problem-solver with strong technical skills in data analytics and visualization. This person will work in close collaboration with the ITSOC Front Office and product teams to understand needs of end users, build reports, conduct data analysis, and make actionable recommendations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the ITSOC Front Office with designing, building, and maintaining key dashboards, reports, and analyses.
Work closely with product teams to define KPIs to measure how well products are delivering on business needs and meeting end user expectations.
Build and deploy automated analytics solutions on cloud platforms such as Power BI or Tableau in the form of interactive dashboards.
Work closely with product and data platform teams to build and/or connect data pipelines for acquiring, processing, and delivering data.
Prepare and present reports, analysis and presentations to various stakeholders as needed.
Master’s degree with 2 years relevant experience or relevant Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline
2+ years of data analytics experience, with a strong preference for experience in web analytics
Strong analytical and communication skills with close attention to detail.
A strong quantitative, creative, and problem-solving mindset
Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
Expertise in SQL, R, Python data analysis packages to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
Able to use strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to cultivate effective, productive client relationships and partnerships across organizational boundaries.
Note: The selected person will be hired on 2 years renewable Term contract which can be extended based on business needs and performance
