The World Bank uses immersive mixed reality experiences to enhance communications efforts, support field operations and decision making across its organizations. Stakeholders are virtually transported to areas of focus to connect with issues affecting people living in poverty and engage.
The Corporate Services Department within Global Corporate Solutions (GCSCS) consists of multiple specialized teams that provide a wide range of essential services to World Bank Group operations while also enhancing staff experience. GCS Interactive Media Services (GCSIM) is responsible for services in the areas of video and photography services, cartography, and immersive media (virtual and augmented reality VR/AR) for internal and external audiences. The VR team coordinates and creates experiences that range from 360o photo tours, VR films, CGI/3D virtual experiences, and VR activations, to augmented reality pieces and other digital products.
The Interactive Media Project Coordinator works in a team with other staff to perform a range of duties involved in VR/AR production, including preparing media for distribution, client engagement and research of interactive technology. The job requires the use of a variety of software for digital file processing.
Duties and Accountabilities :
Lead the development of XR projects and provide guidance to other interactive media team members, consultants, and vendors, to achieve projects results.
Oversee technical operations and requirements for successful XR hardware and multimedia content deployment to support location-based activations and initiatives.
Create VR and AR experiences through available web-based interfaces and specialized VR software like Unity and Unreal.
Create high-fidelity deliverables including detailed designs, illustrations, animated assets, and motion graphics that support interactions and content in pixel-perfect layouts.
Ensure that project schedules are followed, and budgets are adhered to.
Demo experiences for internal World Bank clients as needed.
Research new ways to expand the Unit by testing software and hardware and creating pilot projects, quantifying results, and sharing findings with GCSIM colleagues.
Oversee and update workflow for XR production, advocate for appropriate use of guidelines among peers, and aid colleagues as needed to ensure workflow is followed appropriately.
Engage with clients to support initiatives and tailor service offering towards needs.
Collaborate across multiple GCS Business Services units and foster valuable interactions across teams.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, interactive media, gaming and related technology, or similar disciplines.
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience employing VR and AR immersive concepts, software interfaces, hardware, and industry workflows.
Experience with VR, WebVR interfaces and headsets.
Experience with hands-on production using Unity 3D or Unreal.
Experience in interactive design projects employing creative process and working knowledge of UX/UI design skills.
Familiarity with creating illustrations, motion graphics, and animations.
Demonstrated fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and 3D packages.
Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve production and processing problems.
Ability to deal sensitively with staff in a multicultural environment and build effective working relations with clients and colleagues in a team-based environment
