Eight Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) Country Offices (COs) in the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region have an established Private Sector Fundraising strategy (PSP) raising $100 million yearly - contributing to fund LAC CO programmes (CPDs) across the region as well as contributing Core Resources (RR) to UNICEF globally. Six emerging COs in the region have engaged to various degrees with the private sector, with individual giving strategies and in some cases, engagement with the business sector for income and influence.

The formalized development of a regional Cluster for LAC is a Global strategic focus for, aligning with the global Resource Mobilization strategy to support the financial sustainability of these COs as they reach High Income Country (HIC) status.

How can you make a difference?

The purpose of this position, based in the UNICEF LAC Regional Office, is to support the COs to leverage the fundraising opportunities in the market, with strategic and technical fundraising support. The post holder will serve as an Advisor and all the main duties will be implemented in agreement with COs and according to UNICEF policies.

The position is accountable for supporting the COs to develop and deliver their annual PSPs, including securing fundraising investment, as well as develop and deliver a Cluster PSP. Continual strategic and technical fundraising support is required to support these deliverables.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have...

Education: A university degree in one of the following fields is required: marketing, business management, or another relevant technical field.

Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in fundraising or marketing, with a focus on individual giving/mass marketing.

Experience setting up a fundraising operation, ideally within a Country Office/Programme Country, is considered an asset.

Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.

Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

Language requirements: Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian) or Portuguese is an asset.

UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
