Under the supervision of the Planning Manager (forecasting) (MSDEC), the successful candidate will input to the following projects/activities: Coordination and communication with stakeholders in supply, programme and implementing partners:
Participate in preparing and executing comprehensive long-term forecasts, as well as rolling demand forecasts for current and anticipated emergencies, to ensure high-quality demand plans for a continuous and uninterrupted supply of UNICEF essential and strategic supplies. This includes regularly updating demand and liaising with contract managers and UNICFE country offices as needed.
Regularly monitors the materialization of rolling demand forecasts and stays in close contact with UNICEF country offices to ensure the latest demand figures are updated. Acts as a liaison between UNICEF SD relevant centers and UNICEF country offices to ensure full support is provided in updating their rolling demand forecast.
Engages, monitors and channels discussions in the internal corporate Yammer network, especially those related to our area of responsibility, and monitors and contributes to relevant online community platforms and external discussion forums.
Models and tools to collect, analyze and visualize supply chain, forecasting, demand planning and results data:
Supports the conceptualization and design of optimized forecasting processes, whether UNICEF exclusive or in collaboration with partners, by actively engaging in meetings, coordinating meeting inputs and outputs, and following up and/or implementing action points.
Supply relevant business intelligence:
Provides regular updates on the demand realization gap analysis to relevant Procurement Centers, utilizing data visualization tools such as Power BI. Provides trend analysis to allow contract managers to react to short- and long-term changes in demand. Graphically presents data and communicates it as appropriate.
Bridge between business and IT for solutions and applications related to supply chain:
Liaises with both internal and external IT and business colleagues to conceptualize, develop, and roll-out digital or excel based tools for demand planning and forecasting. Actively participates in all processes, including design, user testing, and implementation.

Education:
A completed 1st University degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in Business, Economics, Development, Social Sciences, Statistics, Supply Chain or relevant field is required.
Experience:
Required: A minimum of 2 years work experience in public and/or private sector with proficiency in demand planning and forecasting, a good use of data processing and data, business data analysis and intelligence, systems and process analysis, and/or performance monitoring is required, preferably in areas related to the supply chain and preferably with experience working in the field.
Language Requirements:
Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in French is an asset.

U NICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments are also subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
