Summary of the job: The Banking Department at the BIS is looking for a fixed income credit dealer to: make investments in the investment grade fixed income credit markets;
conduct fundamental credit and market analysis; and

prepare and present market reports.

The successful candidate is likely to have some experience in a dealing room environment, credit or market risk analysis function, rating agency or financial research company. Knowledge of and experience in the fixed income credit markets, including derivatives, is an advantage.

Principal accountabilities: Trading

Carry out transactions in various debt instruments and interest rate derivatives in accordance with the Bank’s limits and policies.

Credit analysis

Support the credit investment process by conducting appropriate credit analysis to ensure the ongoing quality of the Bank’s fixed income credit holdings.

Market analysis

Analyse financial markets, market trends and political and economic indicators with particular reference to how these impact investment strategy in the credit markets. Keep Treasury management informed about credit market issues and developments.

Special projects

Undertake special projects in the area of credit investment.

Qualification, experience and skills required:

University degree, ideally in a numerical discipline (eg mathematics or finance)

Studying towards an investment qualification (eg CFA)

Some experience as either a junior trader or credit/market analyst

Knowledge of and experience in the fixed income markets, including derivatives, an advantage

Strong analytical skills

Proficient in the use of MS Excel

Excellent drafting and communication skills in English. Ability to communicate in another major world language desirable
