Organizational Setting and Reporting

The position is located in the UN Television Section of the News and Content Branch, News and Media Division. The unit is seeking interns interested in gaining professional, hands-on experience with television and multimedia functions, specifically film, video and social media projects. The internship is for a minimum of two months with a possibility for extension. The internship is

unpaid and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of the Chief of the section.


This opportunity is designed for an intern to work side by side with an experienced information professional. Interns will be trained to work with one or two producers or assistant producers in creating videos for various feature programmes including 21st Century, UN In Action and UNStories. Basic functions include assisting in script writing and editing using Abode Premiere and Final Cut Pro X. Interns may also be requested to perform other ad hoc duties including being trained to assist in studio recordings.


Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively. Listens to others, correctly interprets messages from others and responds appropriately. Demonstrates openness in sharing information and keeping people informed. Asks questions to clarify, and exhibits interest in having two-way communication. Tailors language, tone, style and format to match the audience.
