You will be part of the Enterprise Systems Division in the Directorate Information Systems. Our Division is responsible for the ECB’s portfolio of enterprise systems, which includes its Enterprise Resource Planning systems, mainly comprising SAP products, and its Enterprise Content Management systems, mainly comprising OpenText Content Server and Archive Server platforms. The Division is also responsible for establishing a Data Intelligence Service Centre, which provides shared technical services for data-centric applications. In your role as IT Expert, you will be a member of the SAP team which is responsible for the development and maintenance of the ECB’s SAP landscape, thereby providing services to our internal customers within Finance, Human Resources and Administration. We are currently working on moving the SAP landscape to a new release and therefore looking for a new colleague to initially support us in this transition phase. To further enhance the diversity of the team, we particularly encourage applications from female candidates.

As an IT Expert you will

plan and develop the ECB’s SAP landscape;
maintain and monitor the SAP landscape;
optimise and improve the landscape by introducing new technologies (e.g. SAP HANA);
be responsible for analysing errors and improving performance issues;
plan and execute upgrades, security and support packages;
be the contact for all SAP Basis-related topics, such as infrastructure and Basis support.

The recruitment process for this position may include an online test at the screening stage, and - if you are invited to participate further in the selection procedure - an on-site written exercise and a panel interview, during which you may be required to give a presentation.


a master’s degree in computer science or in a field related to IT or business administration or a bachelor’s degree in the same subject areas combined with five years of relevant professional experience and training;
experience in SAP Basis administration (Netweaver 7.4 and above);
experience in the maintenance and setup of SAP HANA;
experience with SAP Solution Manager 7.1 and above;
a good understanding of IT architecture design and components;
an advanced command of English and a intermediate command of at least one other official language of the EU.


experience with Redhat Linux 7.1;
experience with network architecture;
experience with backup and restore strategies and execution.
