UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.
Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.
And we never give up.
How can you make a difference?
In order to be aware of current children issues it is essential to know how children are portrayed in media on a daily basis.
Media monitoring is an excellent tool for UNICEF, governmental and non-governmental partners to ensure access to relevant information on children issues.
Services of this kind help identify current interest of media outlets in child rights issues, journalists that respect principles for reporting on children and the ones that disregard child rights.
Daily media monitoring represents an excellent tool to assess the manner in which UNICEF work and children are reflected in media: issues regarding children, picked up themes from UNICEF work, accuracy of coverage of specific vulnerable groups, etc. Also, it helps in better responding to various media information needs and reporting about UNICEF activities, as well as to identify journalists interested in covering children issues.
