UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.
Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.
And we never give up.
UNICEF’s Adolescent Development and Participation (ADAP) Section contributes toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda which reaffirms the importance of investing in children and young people and emphasizes their role as agents of change. Adolescents (10-19 year olds) are prominent across all five goal areas of UNICEF’s Strategic Plan (2018-2021) with results and targets articulated around: the health and well-being of adolescent girls and boys (including adolescent nutrition, and HIV), learning and acquisition of skills, safety and protection of adolescent girls and boys and civic engagement and participation.â‚
