OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
Unitaid is a multilateral partnership hosted by the World Health Organization. Unitaid is focused on making a unique and impactful contribution to the global response against HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria in developing countries. It catalyses improvements for the larger response through forward-looking and time-limited investments that are designed to increase access to better, more effective and more affordable health products (i.e. preventatives, medicines and diagnostics). These investments typically target market-based interventions such as price reductions, improvements in quality and supply, and the introduction of innovative products more suitable for the populations in need.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Develop a plan to raise Unitaid’s profile among key audiences including: technical partners and existing and potential grant implementers;
Lead a coordinated effort to familiarize targeted health and development writers and bloggers and other key audiences with Unitaid’s work;- Play a prominent role in conceptualizing and planning the annual report;
Coordinate with all stakeholders involved;- Deputize for the head of communications;
Oversee production of engaging audio-visual products that put a human face on Unitaid’s work;
Develop innovative ways to communicate the impact and value for money of Unitaid’s grants, making use of relevant data from other units;
Contribute to the implementation of the communications strategy through outreach to partners, donors and other stakeholders;- Help drive a social media strategy;
Further develop and promote a standardized branding approach across the organization
Promote a broad range of communications products including brochures, reports,and other digital resources.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Essential: An advanced degree in communications, journalism, media studies, social science or other relevant subject.
