Asian Development Bank (ADB) is an international development finance institution headquartered in Manila, Philippines and is composed of 67 members, 48 of which are from the Asia and Pacific region. The position is assigned in the Development Economics and Indicators Division (ERDI) within the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department (ERCD), which undertakes a range of policy research and capacity building work to foster economic and social development in the Asia Pacific region. ERDI undertakes development policy research, supports statistical capacity building in ADB member economies, participates in international statistics initiatives, develops and maintain statistical databases on member economies, and provide statistical data support to other departments within ADB.

The position supports the division’s research agenda in economics through technical and administrative assistance, including analysis of survey data. It also assists in preparation of ADB’s statistical flagship publication, Key Indicators and associated database. The incumbent will report to designated International Staff.
Manages data and carries out econometric analysis in priority areas for ERDI, such as human capital development; innovation and entrepreneurship; and urbanization.
Contributes to the timely preparation of the division’s reports and ADB’s Key Indicators publication.
Compiles and assimilates data from different sources into an analysis-ready format to support the efficient conduct of economic research.
Assists supervisors in administration of Technical Assistance (TAs)/research and development TAs (RDTAs) and acting as resource person as necessary.
Assists supervisors in providing technical advice and ad hoc data requests of other ADB units.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Relevant Experience & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in economics, statistics or related fields.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in economics, statistics and econometric analysis.
Demonstrated experience in analysis of large-scale survey data.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of applied econometrics and knowledge of basic micro and macroeconomics and development economics.
Excellent knowledge in spreadsheets and graphics software and in the use of statistical and econometric packages/software like STATA for the manipulation and analysis of data.
Working knowledge of relevant statistical databases.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is required

The selected candidate is appointed for an initial term of 3 years.
