UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone. And we never give up.
For every child, a champion
UNICEF Bangladesh Country Programme has a budget of over US$ 250 million for the next three years. The office has been active in mobilizing resources for its programme and so receives a significant amount of funds from external donors.
This needs to be strengthened in the current context where humanitarian needs for the Level 3 Rohingya response are huge as well: UNICEF’s 2018 Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC) appeal for the Rohingya refugees requires almost US$ 150 million to provide life-saving and basic social services with the Government to over 700,000 children, which includes both the existing, new influx and the vulnerable host community children. Continued and timely donor support is critical to scaling up the response in Bangladesh.
This role will be collaborating with a Reports Specialist who has recently been newly appointed to focus on the Rohingya response, located in Cox’s Bazar. The emphasis of this Dhaka-based role will be to focus on fundraising for the rest of the programme and ensuring overall quality in fundraising systems and processes.
How can you make a difference?
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Resource Mobilization Specialist (P4), the Donor Relations Specialist (P3) is responsible for support to overall resource mobilization activities, and leading on ensuring quality donor contract management and reporting, in close coordination with the programme teams. This includes: coordination of fundraising efforts; development and maintenance of information systems, including tracking of the funding pipeline, trends and gaps; donor liaison; and the consolidation and timely submission of donor reports for the Country Programme. This role also ensures the timely preparation and dissemination of briefing documents and reports in support of the UNICEF mission in the country.
